Where you live is where you run.
Since we moved to Mt. Lookout in October our after-work run has primarily been a 5.4 mile loop up Linwood through the square, down Observatory to Madison, through Hyde Park Square, down Delta, and then back home up Linwood.
It's a nice mix of hills and long flat stretches. It provides a look into the windows of coffee shops, restaurants, retail stores, schools, and some of the most beautiful old homes in Cincinnati. It is well-lit for those winter evenings when the run begins after dark. It has everything you could ask for in a run.
Day after day after day.
Routine is one of the character traits that keeps me running. And we spend a lot of time running. Approximately 1/8th of our waking, non-working hours.
However, routine is also the character trait that could keep me from seeing more of the city that I love.
The Ground Rules: In 2013 Donnie and I will run in each of Cincinnati's 52 neighborhoods. We will map our route before we go and write about it afterwards. The route has to be at least 3 miles and we must visit each neighborhood in alphabetical order. We have a year to complete the task, which means we should average one neighborhood per week. We have to run together, but can invite others to run with us.
We hope you join us. If not for the actual runs, at least for the stories afterwards.
